What is treatment options osteomyelitis for non-diabetic patients?
Flucloaxicillin
or
Clindamycin
MRSA suspected;
vancomycin or teicoplanin
consider adding fusidic acid or rifampicin for initial 2 weeks
6 weeks duration for acute infection for ALL OPTIONS
What is treatment option for septic arthritis in non-diabetic patients?
Flucloxacillin
clindamycin
MRSA suspected- vancomycin or teicoplanin
gnococcal arthritis or G-negative infection suspected;
cefotaxime or ceftriaxone
Suggested duration of treatment= 4-6 weeks longer if complication suspected.
