A: Flexes Neck with contralateral rotation if acting unilaterally
Longus Capitis
O: Basilar part of occipital bone
I: Anterior tubercles of C3-C6 TPs
N: APRs of C1-C3 Spinal Nerves
A: Flex Head
Anterior Scalene
O: TPs of C3-C6
I: 1st Rib
N: Cervical Spinal Nerves C4-C6
A: Flex Head
Middle Scalene
O: Posterior Tubercles of TPs of C5-C7
I: Superior Surface of 1st Rib; posterior to groove for subclavian artery
N: APRs of Cervical Spinal Nerves
A: Flexes neck laterally; elevates 1st rib during forced inspiration
Posterior Scalene
O: Posterior Tubercles of TPs of C5-C7
I: External Border of 2nd Rib

A: Flexes neck laterally; elevates 2nd Rib during forced inspiration
Platysma
O: Inferior border of mandible, skin, and subcutaneous tissues of lower face
I: Fascia covering superior parts of pectorals major and deltoid muscles
N: Cervical Branch of Facial Nerve (CN VII)
A: Draws corners of mouth inferiorly and widens it as in expressions of sadness and fright; draws skin of neck superiorly when teeth are clenched
Sternocleidomastoid
O: Lateral surface of mastoid process of temporal bone and lateral half of superior nuchal line
I: Sternal Head: Anterior surface of manubrium of sternum; Clavicular Head: Superior surface of medial third of clavicle
N: Spinal Accessory Nerve (CN XI) and C2, C3 sensory
A: tilts head to same, contralateral rotation, extends neck at upper C/S, and flexes lower C/S
