12th rib to lilolumbar ligament and iliac crest
Action: quadratus lumborum
extension and lateral flexion of the trunk, fixes 12th rib during inspiration
Innervation: quadratus lumborum

Blood supply: quadratus lumborum
subcostal, lumbar and iliolumbar
Attachment: rectus abdominis
xiphoid process and adj. costal cartilages to pubic crest and tubercle
Action: rectus abdominis
flexion of trunk and compression of cavity
Innervation: rectus abdominis
lower thoracic ventral rami
Blood supply: rectus abdominis
superior and inferior epigastric
Attachment: transversus abdominis
lower six costal cartilages and thoracolumbar fascia to inguinal ligament, iliac crest and rectus sheath
Action: transversus abdominis

Innervation: transversus abdominis

supports and compresses posterior pelvic floor

Attachment: levator ani
pubic symphysis, obturator fascia and ischial spine to midline raphe and anoccygeal ligament
Actions: levator ani
supports pelvic viscera and compresses rectum and vagina
Innervation: levator ani
pudendal nerve (inf rectal branches) and S4
Blood supply: levator ani
inf gluteal, internal pudendal, inf rectal and inf vesical
