Diaphragm origin?
Crura, arcuate ligaments, internal surface of lower ribs, costal margin, xyphoid process
Diaphragm insertion?
Central tendon
Diaphragm action?
1) Contract for inspiration 2) relax for expiration 3) increase intra-abdominal pressure
What is the origin for the median arcuate, medial arcuate, and lateral arcuate ligaments?
All originate off the diaphragm
What is the innervation of the psoas minor?
Anterior ramus of L1
What is the action of psoas minor?
Weak trunk flexor; Dr. Y thinks it does nothing
What is the innervation of the psoas major?
Lumbar plexus
What is the action of the psoas major?
Lateral flexion of the trunk; hip flexor (move thigh anteriorly)
What is the innervation for the quadratus lumborum?
Anterior ramus of T12 and lumar plexus
What is the action of quadratus lumborum?
Lateral flexor of trunk
What is the shape and location to quadratus lumborum?
Lateral to minor/major psoas, rectangular
What is the innervation of iliacus?
Femoral nerve
What is the action of the iliacus?
Medial rotation of hip and hip flexor
Where is the iliacus found?
On the inside of the hip bone, on ala surface of hip
Iliacus is inferior to what muscle?
Quadratus lumborum
