Closes lips.

Lifts the corners of your mouth up.
Masseter
Elevates mandible to close the jaw.
Sternocleidomastoid
Neck flexion and rotation of the head.
Pectoralis Major
Chest muscle; Moves your arms.
Flexes, adducts and medially rotates the arm.
External Intercostal Muscles

Elevates your ribcages.
Internal Intercostal Muscles

Depresses you ribcages.
External Abdominal Oblique
Help rotate the trunk.
Internal Abdominal Oblique
Compresses abdominal obliques.
Rectus Adominus
Flexion (decreases the angle) of the trunk.
Allows you to bend over and touch your toes.
Trapezius
Elevates, depresses, and holds the scapula in place.
Latissmus dorsi
Extends the arm and shoulder; Adduction and medial rotation.
Erector Spine muscle group
Extends and laterally rotates your vertebrae.
Deltoid
Abduction of the arm.
Rotator cuff muscles
Rotation of the shoulder joint.
Biceps and Triceps Brachii
Flex and extend the forearm at the elbow.
Brachialis and Brachioradialis
Supination and Pronation.
Gluteus Maximus
Extend (back?) and laterally rotate the hip.
Gluteus Medius
Medial rotation of the hip.
Sartorius
Flex, abduct and laterally rotate the hip.
Quads - Rectus Remoris
Extend the knees; Flexes the thighs.
Gracilis
Flexes the leg and the knee; Adduction.
Tibialis Anterior
Dorsiflexion; Some inversion of the foot.
Gastrocnemius
Moves the knee and ankle -> Plantar flexion; Flexes the knee.
Flexion
Decreases the angle.
Extension
Increases the angle.
Dorisflexion
Move your foot in superior direction toward the shin.
Plantar flexion
Flex foot inferiorly.
Abduction
Away from the midline.
Adduction
Toward the midline.
Circumduction
Combination of flexion, extension, abduction, adduction.
Rotation
Movement along longitudinal axis (lateral and medial).
Supination
Rotation of forearm -> Palm facing anteriorly.
Pronation
Palm rotated posteriorly.
Elevation
Moves body parts (like shoulder) upward; Superior direction.
Depression
Moves body part downward; Inferior direction.
Retraction
Movement in posterior direction <-
Protraction
Movement in anterior direction ->
Eversion
The sole of the foot faces laterally.
