Thoracic Cavity
Structures: (The chest) Contains the trachea, bronchi, lungs, esophagus, mediastinum, heart/large blood vessels, and thymus gland/nerve.
Also: Contains PLEURAL and PERICARDIAL CAVITIES.
Pericardial Cavity
Contains the heart.
Pleural Cavity
Contains each lung.
Cranial Cavity
Contains the brain.
Spinal Cavity
Contains the spinal cord (extension of the brain).
Abdominopelvic Cavity
Portion of ventral cavity below the diaphragm. Includes ABDOMINAL and PELVIC CAVITIES.
Abdominal Cavity
Contains the stomach, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, small intestines, and most of the large intestine.
Pelvic Cavity
Contains the end of large intestines, rectum, urinary bladder, and reproductive organs.
Ventral Cavity
Cavity that’s anterior (front) of the human body. Made up of THORACIC and ABDOMINOPELVIC CAVITIES.
