pain out of proportion to complaint.
how should you do a good neuro assessment to the hands and feet?
feel the sensation on all aspects of the hand of feet (there are 3 nerves that innervate the hands and feet)
what portion of the leg is most likely effected by compartment syndrome?
anterior
volkmann’s contracture
is a permanent shortening (contracture) of forearm muscles
secondary to compartment syndrome
what drug can cause compartment syndrome?
Statins (rhabdo is caused by pee)
treatment for rhabdo?
lots and lots of fluid (to flush the kidneys)
what is primary lesion?
it is the one that presents (caused by the disease)
what is secondary skin lesion?
is the one we cause (what has happened to the lesion , like scratching)
what is an ombudsman?
one per state, and who you report elderly abuse to.
