Muscle movement/function Flashcards
1
Q
Name all the important adductors !
A
The long head of m. triceps brachii, The short head of the m. biceps brachii, Latissimus dorsi, Pectoralis major, Teres major, The clavicular and spinal fibers of the deltoid muscle
2
Q
Name all the abductors of the upper limb
A
- Long head of m. biceps brachii
- The deltoid muscle
- M. supraspinatus
(trapezius + serratus m. can help the movement as well)
3
Q
what is the main elevator of the upper limb?
A
M. serratus anterior, helped by the: m. trapezius + m. pectoralis minor. The movement is dependent on the sternoclavicular + the acromioclavicular joints. This movement is basically a continuation of the previous abduction
4
Q
muscles that perform the anteversion of the upper limb?
A
those are:
- The clavicular fibers of the deltoid + some of the fibers of the acromial part,
- m. biceps brachii
- m. pectoralis major
- coracobrachialis
- serratus anterior muscle
5
Q
The muscles which make the retroversion if the upper arm possible are:
A
Latissimus dorsi
Long head of the triceps brachii
Teres major
The deltoid
6
Q
Lateral (external rotation) is possible thanks to the
A
m. infraspinatus (the strongest one)
m. teres minor
spinal part of the deltoid muscle
