  • Fever
  • Malaise
  • Muscle pain
  • Parotitis (earache, pain on eating) which is initially unilateral but becomes bilateral in 70%

A

MMR vaccine

  • Orchitis (typically occurs 4-5 days after start of parotitis)
  • Hearing loss - usually unilateral and transient
  • Meningoencephalitis
