Less than 5mm - will pass spontaneously
More than 5mm - shockwave lithotripsy
If obstructive uropathy/infection for decompression and antibiotics

What can we give to prevent recurrence of calcium renal stones?
A
Thiazide diuretics

What is the role of alpha blockers in renal stones?
A
For example Tamsulosin
Relaxes the smooth muscle in the wall of the ureter, and may help the stone pass
Consider for distal stones less than 10mm
