Q

TMJ Synovitis & capsulitis vs hypermobility vs DDWR or DDw/o R

A

Synovitis/capsulitis–>pain near ear, unable to fully close back teeth, opening < 40 mm
hyper=jaw feeling like out of place, jaw catching if fully opened, depression 40+ mm & deviates to contralateral side
DDWR=pop/click with opening & closing (reciprocal clikc)
DDw/oR=intermittent locking + joint noises, opening of jaw <20-25 mm with deflection to INVOLVED side
