MSK Intervention Flashcards
Contract Relax Stretching
uses max isometric against PT followed by relaxation with limb pushed further
uses?=increase mobility of joint
Oscillation grades
Grade 1= small amplitude at beginning of end range
2=large amplitude at 25-50%
3=large amplitude at 50-100%
4=small amplitude past tissue resistance
*Grades 1/2=for pain
3/4=for ROM
Explain convex-concave rule
Convex on concave=concave is fixed so direction of mob is opposite of limitation
if Convex surface is fixed=roll and glide in same direction
If limitations are found in GH abduction and flexion what glides would you do?
Inferior glide
If limited GH ER what glide would you use?
posterior
if limited hip flexion what glide?
Inferior glide
if limited knee extension what glide?
anterior glide
flexion=posterior glide
If limited Df what glide?
DF=posterior
if a patient is limited in subtaler eversion what glide?
Medial glide
If limited wrist extension what glide?
anterior glide
If a patient has a suspected RC tear what imaging is best to see it?
MRI (good for soft tissue)
If fat appears brighter on an MRI and fluid is darker what kind is this?
T1
T2=fluid is brighter & fibrous tissue is darker (good for ID joint pathologies
