MSK Eval/prognosis Flashcards
List the process/steps of an evaluation
Subjective, postural assessment, AROM, PROM, MMT, special tests
Upper Quarter myotomes
C1=cervical flexion
C2=cervical ext
C3/4=lateral flexion
C5=shoulder abduction
C6=Elbow flex & wrist ext
C7=elbow ext & wrist flex
C8=finger flexion/thumb ext
T1=finger abduction
What is a point of PROM?
differentiate b/t Contractile vs non contractile, end feels
Describe 0-5 MMT grades
0=no visible contraction
1=contraction felt but no mvmt
2-=partial ROM with gravity eliminated
2=full ROM in gravity eliminated
2+=partial ROM against gravity
3-=same as far but gradual release against resistance
3=can only move into test position, but cannot hold
3+=can hold against minimal pressure
4=can hold against moderate resistance
5=normal, can hold against max resistance
List DTR’s of body
C5=biceps
C6=brachioradialis
C7=triceps
L3/4=patellar
S1=Achilles
S2=hamstrings
Grades of DTRs
1=areflexia
2=hyporeflexia
2=normal
3=hyperreflexia
Describe how you would bias peroneal, tibial and sural nerves in testing
Peroneal=SLR + PF & inversion
Tibial=SLR + DF & eversion
Sural= SLR + DF & inversion
If long sitting test is + what does it mean?
if affected limb appears longer supine & shorter sitting–>anterior innominate rotation on affected side
if shorter in supine & longer slitting=posterior innomate rotation on affected
Describe Laslets cluster
Testing SI joint pathology:
Distraction, thigh thrust, Gaenslens, sacral thrust, compression
