- centre of discs dry and shrink out
manifestations:
- back pain
- spinal deformity

- inflammatory joint disease
arthritis: inflammation
osteo: degeneration - cartilage destruction and joint degeneration
Rheumatoid:
- systemic autoimmune response
- ongoing inflamm response causes scar tissue and joint stiffness
Psoriatic:
- chronic, immune mediated inflammatory joint disorder
- 1:5 have a history of psoriasis
Gout:
- recurring inflamm arthritis
- metabolic disorder
- disruption of the body uric acid levels
Septic
- invasion of bacteria into joint cavity
- usually 1 joint
