furuncles/abscesses that are red, painful, swollen, warm and filled with pus

what precautions will a patient with MRSA be on?
A
MRSA patient will be on contact precautions

what are important nursing points to know when taking care of a patient with MRSA?
A
- resistant to antibiotics
- spread very easily
- if they have a fever call provider because this can be indicative of a systemic infection
- no aspirin
