Prediction and evacuation

A group of scientists from the National Centre for Prevention of Disasters in Mexico City predicted the eruption due to a build up of seismic waves and more frequent ash emissions.
Tens of thousands of people were evacuated from the edge of the capital city before the volcano put on its largest display in 1,200 years, 48 hours later. No injuries or deaths were reported.
