traffic bunching
Is when traffic bunches together, meaning that vehicles are travelling too closely
Only stop on a motorway when…
1) Red crosses are displayed above every lane
2) A police officer or traffic officer asks you to do so
3) You have an emergency such as an accident or breakdown
Contraflow system
This is when the traffic is travelling against the normal flow of traffic. So, the right hand lane will be using a lane on the other side of the carriageway
Crawler lanes
You can find them on steep gradients on motorways
They allow for slow or heavy vehicles to travel in a different lane to reduce congestion in other lanes
