What is a motor programme?
A
A motor programme is a series of movements stored in long term memory.

What is a subroutine?
A
A subroutine is a discrete part of a motor programme that is essentially what the coach might identify as being the ‘parts’ of the skill?
eg. the Tennis Serve (Motor programme) is made up of a number of subroutines (Grip, stance, backlift, etc.
We identify these subroutines in the preparation, execution and recover/follow through phases of the movement.
