CNS Effects:
- depression (respiratory, CNS, cough reflex)
- Stimulation (mood, euphoria, vomitting, pupils)
CV:
- vasodilation (low BP)
- lower HR

- Pain relief
- Sedation to maintain/facilitate intubation

- Hypersensitivity
- Renal impairment/failure
- late 2nd stage labour

- elderly
- low BP, respiratory depression
- asthma or respiratory track burns
- addiction or alcoholism

CNS:
