What is a conscience?
A
A sense of right and wrong - religious believers believe it comes from God.
- ‘wrong’ is any act that goes against an agreed moral code or the will of God. Is relative and subjective.

A
A human’s ability to make free choices - religious believers believe it is given by God

What are the virtue ethics?
A
- A philosophy developed Ancient Greeks
- States that virtue is acquired through practice. By practising virtuous traits i.e. honesty, a person develops a moral character, which helps them to make the right choice when faced with ethical dilemmas. - Emphasises an individual’s character as the key element in critical thinking rather than the rules about the acts themselves or their consequences.

Permanent ethical beliefs.
