What is the Christian attitude to punishment and justice?
A
- Believe in restorative justice -punishment allowing criminal to make amends by meeting and apologizing to their victim.
- Victim receives closure and relieves trauma - ‘Father forgive them, for they know not what they do’
- punishment should aim to reform

What is the Christian view of good?
A
God made the earth ‘and it was good’ but humans have free will to decide between right and wrong.

A
- Catholics believe in Original sin
- Evil comes from humans b/c Adam and Eve brought evil into the world when they chose to disobey God and eat from tree of knowledge.
- “So God sent them out of the Garden of Eden’

A
- God allows evil to exist b/c suffering through evil is necessary to develop moral souls
- Knowledge of good and evil is not innate so we suffer to learn lessons about morality and virtue.
