What is the World Wide Web?
it is a network of interlinked documents called Web pages.
What is a Website?
it’s when a group of webpages created by an individual or organization and stored in the same place.
What can Web Pages display?
Aside From different types of files, they can also display video, audio, still and animated images
Define Web Servers
Are often called hosts because they play host to information
What is Hypertext?
Webpages that are linked together, which is text containing links to other text or documents on the web.
How are Links displayed?
usually display a colored and/or underlined text,
A link can also appear as a graphic.
When you point to a link the mouse pointer changes to a hand with a pointing finger.
What is URL?
it’s Uniform Resource Locator
Where is the URL located when pointing to the Hyperlink?
it is located in the status bar at the bottm left corner of your window.
What does it mean when you move from one document to another using hyperlinks?
it is refered to as navigating, browsing or surfing the web.
What are the main Web Browser Components?
- Tab
- Address Bar
- Content Window
- Control Buttons
- Back and Forward
- Reload
- Bookmark
- Settings
What is the Tab?
Each Tab contains a webpage
What is the Address Bar?
The Bar where the address or URL of the web page displays.
What is the Content Window?
The largest area of the browser window displaying the current web page.
What are the Control Buttons?
they are buttons used to minimize, maximize/restore and close the browser window.
What are the Back and Forward buttons?
navigation buttons that allow you go to the previous or next web page in a tab
