A

Coded 010 field. Both indicators blank. NR. No punctuation. Omit any dashes. 2 formats: before 2000, and after 2001.

Explain the coding for National Bibliographic Agency Control Number.

A

Used for any agency other and LC. Coded 016 field. Looks like LCCN but w/ C at beg. First indicator # or 7, 2nd is blank. R. No punctuation. Omit the C at beginning. 2 formats: before 2001 and after.

Explain ISBN

A

Used to be 10 digits, now 13. Unique and unduplicated number. ISBN’s important to cataloguers: 1. Unique #, help to identify books; 2. Searchable by KW in OPAC.

A

As they are.

020 field. Both indicators blank. R. Do not record dashes. $a $c NR, $q R. No punctuation unless 020 ends w/ closing parenthesis or period following an abbreviation.
