Module 6 - Body management Flashcards
How do we control the body as an object?
stability and mobility - being able to manipulate the COG and LOG in relation to the BOS
how do stability and mobility work as opposites?
the more you are stable, the less you are mobile.
what is mobility?
a body that is no longer stable, motion and movement occurs.
greater mobility: the BOS is small, the COG/ is close to the edge of the BOS
trade offs
some movements and concepts overlap, but other ones work together.
What is B1?
Ready Position
keeping our COG, LOG and BOS in position, involves a concentric contraction
What is B2?
Enlarging the BOS
- helps with stoping, changing direction
What is B3?
Propel the body through space using a Firm Surface.
interaction of two surfaces: friction
What is B4?
Absorbing the force of a landing
falling using as much available surface area, time and distance.
increases stability, decreases injury
What is B5?
Run in a forward Direction
it is the quickest way to move through space
What is B6?
using crossovers and moving laterally is efficient from moving side to side
allows us to focus our attention on the game
What is B7?
recover quickly by going back to your ready position
our spot where we can easily access all areas of the field.
