Q

What is Bernoulli’s principle?

A

an object will always want to move in the area of least resistance or lesser air pressure rather than more pressure.
- pressure is inverse to the speed of the fluid

Q

What is the Magnus Effect?

A

a moving projectile with topspin will create high pressure on top and lower pressure on the bottom, making the object fall faster than without spin
the pressure differential causes the path of the ball to move from the area of high pressure to the are of lo pressure.

Q

spinning objects and body

A

an object can spin faster than a body
humans can’t move fast enough for the Magnus effect to come into play

we can speed up our rotation by bringing our limbs closer to our COG to gain rotational speed.

Q

Flattening of the swinging arc

A

changing the path of the swing of the object so you have more chances to release it in the right direction.
can be done by taking a step, or extending your arms to flatten the swing
