MSD 16mm- Embryo seen
TA: MSD 20mm- Yolk sac seen

What is the classical clinical triad of an ectopic?
A
- Pain
- Bleeding
- Adnexal mass

What is the most common ectopic site?
A
95% occur in the ampulla

What is a heterotopic pregnancy?
A
An intrauterine pregnancy with a twin ectopic

What is physiological herniation?
A
When the fetal gut herniates into the base of the umbilical cord at 8 weeks. Goes back in around 12 weeks.

What are the classifications of abortions?
A
- Threatened abortion- vaginal bleeding but normal pregnancy
- Anembryonic- AKA blighted ovum, no embryo
- Embryonic demise- AKA missed abortion, dead fetus
- Inevitable abortion- in progress
- Incomplete abortion- some products of conception have passed but some remain
- Complete abortion- all products have passed
- Habitual abortions- 3 or more consecutive abortions
- Septic abortion- infected products of conception
