What divides true and false pelvis?
Arcuate line
What structures are within the true pelvis?
Uterus, ovaries, Fallopian tubes, vessels, muscles, rectum, colon, etc.
What are the 4 segments of the uterus?
Fundus, corpus/body, isthmus, cervix
What is the average dimension of a nulliparous uterus? How much do you add for multiparous?
8x5x4cm, and 1 cm in all direction for multiparous
What is upper limits of normal in a postmenopausal woman with/without bleeding?
<5cm with, <9cm without bleeding
What are the phases of the endometrium?
Menstrual (thin), proliferative (3 stripe), secretory (thick)
What are the segments of the Fallopian tubes (4)
- Interstitial (narrowest)
- Isthmus
- Ampulla (longest and widest)
- Infundibulum (contains fimbriae)
What is the landmark for ovaries?
Internal iliac arteries
What is the upper limit of normal for ovaries?
6cc but can be up to 20cc
What is an abnormal ovary size in postmenopausal woman?
> 8cc
Where do the right and left ovarian veins drain into?
Right- to IVC
Left- to left renal vein to IVC
