Module 5-exploiting flops Flashcards
Explain the difference in terms of ranges between snap-bet and tank-bet on the flop.
How should I adjust my strategy based on that?
The tank-bet is VERY SLIGHTLY weaker hands (59% vs 57%) which folds slightly more (2% more) to X/R.
Tank-bet range barrels a bit less on the turn.
I can only slightly adjust some of my mixed strategies, not even all of them….
I bet the flop, villian snap-calls. What’s the meaning of a snap-call? What’s the meaning of a tank-call?
It’s a clear signal that their decision was easy. Tank call- his decision was harder.
On the flop, what’s the difference between the ranges of snap-call and tank-call in terms of strength?
Tank-call contains 60% weak hands and snap-call contains only 42% weak hands. Tank call contains a lot more of those borderline hands with backdoor equity.
On the flop, what’s the difference between the ranges of snap-call and tank-call when it comes to the following:
- Trash (backdoors)
2.TPWK
3.TPGK
4.Gutshots
5.Middle pair
6.Two pair plus
- Trash is going to be more frequent at the tank call (17% vs 8%)
2+3 Top pair with or without a kicker is going to be way more frequent at the snap-call range (18% vs 10% TPWK,2.2 vs 1.8 for TPGK)
4. Gutshots - way more in the tank-call region (9.2% vs 6.4%)
5. Middle pair - way more at snap call range (18 vs 11)
6. Two pair plus is pretty much the same frequency for both ranges (about 2%).
On the flop, what’s the difference between the ranges of snap-call and tank-call when it comes to X/C the turn vs X/F the turn?
The turn is folded way more when they tank-call: 57% vs 45%
What does the solver do vs a simulated snap-call range on the turn?
Bets value (including thin value bets like second pair good kicker) checks bluffs (a tiny, tiny, fraction of bluffs), and overfolds on the river after turn went x/x
What does the solver do vs a simulated tank-call range on the turn?
Since they overbluff the river and overfold turn,
bet any bluff,
check a lot of value and bluffcatchers (bet some value too but not too often), and bluffcatch that entire range on the river
How does Saulo recommend to adjust my strategy in practice on the turn, after villain check/tank call or check/snap call on the flop?
since if I utilize max exploit this will become apparent to villain:
If max exploit is to bet all bluffs vs tank-call, maybe check some of the worse, if max exploit is to check all bluffs vs snap-call,sometimes bet the best bluffs,
OR
shift mixed strategies towards the direction in which their range is skewed towards.
