Q

How does digestion occur?

A

Bowl is made by the liver from the cholesterol and emulsifies fats that it can mix with watery fluids and can be digested.
The gall bladder stores bowl from the liver and squirts it into the small intestine so that fat digesting enzymes can break apart fat to smaller molecules to be absorbed.

Q

What are the major types of lipoproteins?

A
  • Chylomicrons : transport lipids to liver and other tissues
  • VLDL: carry triglycerides and other lipids made in liver to body cells
  • LDL: Transport cholesterol and lipids to tissues
  • HDL: transport cholesterol away from body cells to liver for disposal
