Which land based stations are authorized to use MMS?
Canadian Coast Guard Radio Stations and Search & Rescue facilities. Restricted licences may be given to marinas and bridge operators, etc. but not including VHF ch 16 or MF 2182
Range and use for VHF?
Short range, less than 20 Nautical miles.
Most pleasure boaters, and smaller vessels.
Range and use for MF, HF?
Long range, few thousand miles.
Ocean going vessels, HF in Arctic too.

What are the ROC(M) basic regulations?
All persons operating a radio in Canadian waters use the regulations of their country of origin.
