Trans-theoretical model
The stages of change
Precontemplation Contemplation Preparation Action Maintenance Relapse
Health belief model
Perceived as susceptibility to disease plus perceived as severity of a disease
Perceived threat of disease
Perceived benefits minus perceived barriers
All of this is affected by modifying factors which are things like age, sex, personality, Knowledge, socioeconomics
Cues to action, this affects the perceived threat
And all leads to the likelihood of a behavior change
Theory of planned behavior
- Behavioral beliefs –> attitudes toward the belief
- Normative beliefs –> subjective norm
- Control beliefs–> perceived to behavior control
These all lead to intention which leads to behavior
Actual behavioral control can lead to behavior also
Social cognitive theory
Based on reciprocal determinism, The constructs can go always and all of fact each other
This theory used in designing interventions, Bandera, social learning theory with Bobo dolls, children watch adults and repeat the behavior
