A

This means eating foods they are intolerant making them feel ill or affect their long-term health which is not life-threatening .

What is Lactose Intolerance

A

This is a sugar naturally found in milk. The body breaks it down through an enzyme called Lactase and is absorbed into the bloodstream.

It is caused by a shortage of Lactase.

A

Hard cheese e.g. cheddar which contain little lactose and yoghurt can be eaten since live bacteria it contains promotes digestion of lactose.

A

When individuals are intolerant to gluten. This is when individuals eat foods containing wheat causing damage to the small intestine. Its also an auto-immune disease and the immune system mistakenly mistakenly attacks the body instead of protecting against bacteria.
