1
Q

Why is modelling important?

A

It allows you to visualise your designs in 3D, and spot and solve any problems.

Q

What are toiles?

A

Early versions of a clothing design - they can be worn by a model or placed on a mannequin, and are used to find the proportions and fit of the garment.

Q

Qualities of fabric that should be used for toile

A

-cheap- design can be experimented with and improved without costing too much
-lightly coloured to mark any changes needed on it
-similar properties to the real fabric - e.g. weight and stretchiness

Q

What are breadboards?

A

Boards with rows of holes that electronic components can be pushed through.
Wires are plugged into the other holes to complete the circuit for testing.

Q

Why are breadboards useful?

A

They don’t require soldering.
The components can be easily removed and the circuit can be easily changed.

Q

What is mathematical modelling?

A

A type of modelling that shows how an object or system will behave in reality.
Models are made using data and information about known relationships between variables.

Q

What information is needed to be ready to make prototypes?

A
  • the best materials, tools and equipment to use
  • the assembly process
  • the approximate manufacturing time needed to complete each product
  • hw much it should cost to make each product
