What is a Systems Approach?
Breaking down the design process into a number of different stages and doing each in turn - e.g. writing the specification and then coming up with ideas, developing them.
It is orderly and reliable.
What is User-Centred Design?
Where the wants and needs of the user are prioritised- their thoughts are given a lot of attention at each and every stage of the design process.
What is Iterative Designs?
A process centred around a constant process of evaluation and improvement.
It is a circular process.
How does client involvement improve the product?
Offers them the opportunity to give feedback to improve future iterations of the design.
How does User Involvement help aid the design process?
The aim is to get feedback on the design ideas, models and prototypes, and make improvements so that end product is more appealing to the target market.
How do expert opinions aid the design process?
You can benefit from their experience by asking them to look and provide feedback on your design and suggestions improvements.
Ways to avoid design fixation

-collaboration - getting honest feedback on your designs and brainstorming with other people
-focusing on new solutions to the design brief
