phagocytosis of necrotic cell debris
endothelial cells proliferate (EGF) (regeneration)
granulation tissue arise
VEGF stimulate angiogenesis
granulation tissue contains myofibroblasts and fibroblasts which secrete collagen and lead to wound contracture
granulation tissue becomes less vascularised - replaced by collagen (scar appears white)
scar mature to form fibrous scar then shrinks (fibrils in myofibroblasts contract)
