Mixing With Venue Flashcards

1
Q

Explain the ‘L-R plus Mono’ main bus configuration. (3)

A

Commonly used for general sound reinforcement an music applications.
Two speaker clusters (left/right), with no center cluster.
Mono bus (‘C-M’ on console) typically used to drive sub channel or used as separate output for down fills, front fills, etc.

2
Q

Explain the ‘L-C-R’ main bus configuration. (3)

A

Commonly used in theatrical settings or mobile/broadcast applications.
In theatrical applications, PA commonly includes large center cluster of speakers, primarily carrying voice, while left/right clusters are used mainly for music/sfx.
Broadcast applications typically require discrete L-C-R bussing, so center-panned signals appear only on the C output.
