Why can’t VENUE plug-ins be installed and adjusted on the VENUE standalone software?
Because VENUE’s TDM plug-ins run on the Mix Engine DSPs and not on the host computer.
What kinds of storage devices can be used to install plug-ins onto a VENUE system?
USB drive or CD-ROM.
When installing plug-ins on D-Dhow or Profile that include a large amount of presets or impulse response files for convolution reverbs, what can be done to copy the files at a faster speed.
Use one of the USB 2.0 ports on the FOH/Mix Rack, instead of the port on the console.

Where should installers on a USB drive be located?
They must be located in a folder at the root level of the USB drive called “TDM Plug-Ins” and each plug-in you want to install must be in its own folder e.g. TDM Plug-Ins/Fairchild 660.

The system needs to reinintialise the plug-in racks which will interrupt audio.
How many rack slots are available to hold plug-ins on an SC48 system?
40 (4x10).
How many rack slots are available to hold plug-ins on a D-Show or Profile system?
100 (4x25).
How can you rename plug-in racks in the VENUE software? (3)
- Double-click rack name.
- Type new name.
- Press Enter.
Why should you decide what plug-ins you will use BEFORE beginning a show performance?
Adding plug-ins to the racks during performance will cause an interruption of audio.
Which plug-in rack view allows you to control plug-in parameters on screen?
Zoom view.
What is the difference between the ‘Power’ button and the ‘In/Out’ button in the rack slot controls?
Power button (Config mode only) - Turns rack slot on/off. When off, plug-in consumes no DSP. In/Out (bypass) button) - Takes rack slot in/out of circuit. When bypassed, plug-in still consumes DSP.
What can be done to see an explanation of why a plug-in is not available?
Place the cursor over the plug-in icon.
What software page do you need to use to assign plug-ins to rack slots?
Plug-Ins.
What mode does the console need to be in to assign plug-ins to rack slots?
Config mode.

What is the process for using a plug-in as a bus processor? (5)
- Go to ‘Plug-Ins’ page.
- Assign plug-in to rack slot.
- Click plug-in input selector.
- Go to ‘Bus Outs’ sub-menu.
- Choose available bus.
What is the effect of pinning a plug-in view?
Provides constant access to a single plug-in on-screen, while being able to select and adjust other plug-ins from the console.
When is pinning a plug-in view helpful?
For maintaining the display of an important plug-in, such as an analysis plug-in or primary EQ.
What three locations can you use to access and adjust plug-in parameters on VENUE?
On-screen display.
ACS.
Assignable Output Encoders.
What are some limitations for adjusting EQ in the ACS?
When a plug-in has more than 4 bands, some controls will be unavailable in the ACS EQ section.
How can plug-ins that do not map to the ACS be adjusted?
Using Output Encoders.
How can rotary encoders be adjusted with greater resolution?
Hold ‘Fine/Ctrl’ key while rotating an encoder.
To move to another plug-in on D-Show or Profile, what switches on the ACS can be used?
‘Plug-In Select’ switches.
Where do you go in the VENUE software to create a new Presets folder for plug-ins?
Filing/Transfer/Presets Folder.

Can the same plug-in presets be applied to multiple Show files?
Yes.
