most common cause of MCTD death
pulmonary HTN
Tx for MCTD
steroids
can treat with NSAIDs not good treatment other than avoidance of triggers
prognosis of MCTD
variable prognosis and worse prognosis is with those who have scleroderma and polymyositis symptoms.
what is associated with premature mortality with mixed connective tissue dx?
pulmonary arterial HTN and interstitial lung dx
MCTD dx demographics
seen in women 9:1
onset age is 30-50 yrs
most people have no known risk factors.
symptoms of MCTD are
a mixture
see SLE
