Mitosis Review Flashcards
Prophase
Chromosomes become visible and condense becoming shorter and thicker, spindles begin forming, nucleolus disappears and nuclear envelope breaks down
Prometaphase
Fragments of Nuclear Envelope, Spindles connect to Kinetochore
Metaphase
The double stranded chromosomes line up along the equator of the cell, the spindle is now fully formed and the microtubes attach to each sister chromatid
Anaphase
The Sister chromatids of each chromosome seperate, move to opposite side, done when they are completly seperated
Telophase
Two groups of chromosomes reach the opposite end of the cell, nuclear envelope develops, chromosomes uncoil and the spindles disappear, nucleolus returns
Cytokinese In Animal Cells
Cleavage Furrow, pinches cell and divides
Cytokinese In Plant Cells
Must divide from inside, Cell Plate
