What is the end result of Mitosis?
A
-The formation of 2 identical daughter cells to the parent cell

What happens in Prophase?
A
-preparation
- chromosomes come visible
- centrioles move to opposite poles of the cell

What happens in Metaphase?
A
-Middle
-centrioles produce spindle fibres
-chromosomes line up at the centre
-no more nucleus

What happens in Anaphase?
A
-apart
-spindle fibres contract, centromere breaks and splits chromosomes
-each cell receives one chromatid from each chromosome

What happens in Telophase?
A
-chromatids reach poles
-uncoil
-become less distinct
-nuclear envelope starts to return
