Auto-Land Limitations (Review, don’t memorize)
Maximum reported wind component to initiate approach and land using autoland:
- 25 knots headwind
- 15 knots crosswind
- 10 knots tailwind
The maximum runway slope is 0.8% upslope and 1.0% downslope.
The minimum runway width is 148 feet.
The maximum glideslope angle is 3.25°
The minimum glideslope angle is 2.5°
Autoland is prohibited with the AURAL WARN INHIB switchlight selected on.
Single engine autoland is prohibited.
The aircraft may continue to an autoland with an engine failure below 200 feet AGL.
When is a PACK OFF Takeoff prohibited?
In an A220-300
Upset recovery
“UPSET, RECOVER”
“Push, roll, power, stabilize”
Climb thrust settings -100 vs -300
When is use of autopilot required (if operable) on the following approaches:
- ILS Cat 1 or LDA w Glideslope
- RNAV (GPS or GNSS)
- weather below 4,000 feet RVR or 3/4 mile
- weather below 4,000 feet RVR or 3/4 mile
- until aligned with the runway and in visual conditions
