Miscellaneous Flashcards
What type of supplemental oxygen system is installed for cockpit use?
Gaseous oxygen system stored in a cylinder.
What type of oxygen masks are installed in the cockpit of the CRJ-700?
Three full face quick-donning oxygen masks
Where is the cockpit oxygen cylinder installed?
The cockpit oxygen cylinder is located in an enclosure behind an access panel inside the forward left wardrobe closet aft of the cockpit wall.
What occurs when the cockpit oxygen cylinder has less than 1410 psi?
The readout changes to amber and an EICAS caution message “OXY LO PRESS” is displayed on the primary page.
Where is the oxygen overboard discharge indicator located?
It is installed flush with the outer skin on the lower left side of the fuselage, forward of the main passenger entry door and a few inches ahead of the static port.
What is the location of the cockpit oxygen ground service panel?
Ground Service Panel is on the right forward fuselage below the First Officer’s side window
What is the function of the yellow blinker located on the cockpit oxygen mask stowage box?
It shows yellow when oxygen is flowing or when the harness is inflated. Black indicates no oxygen flow.
What does the white oxygen on flag indicate?
The oxygen shutoff valve is open.
How is the oxygen flow shutoff valve closed after use?
By closing the oxygen mask container doors and pressing the “press to test & reset” lever stops oxygen flow to the mask & removes the white “ON” flag.
What is the function of the Emergency Flow Control Knob located on the cockpit oxygen mask?
To select a continuous flow of 100% oxygen to its mask
What is the function of the NORMAL / 100% lever?
- Normal: provides a mixture of ambient air with oxygen on demand.
- 100%: provides 100% pure oxygen on demand.
When will the cockpit oxygen masks supply 100% pure oxygen at a constant flow regardless of Normal/100% lever?
With a cabin altitude of 30,000 feet or greater.
How is the oxygen mask microphone activated?
By selecting the MASK / BOOM switch to the MASK position on the associated audio control panel (ACP).
What is the location of the cockpit oxygen cylinder service panel?
The forward right side of the aircraft nose.
What type of system provides oxygen to the passengers during a depressurization?
Chemically generated oxygen system (oxygen generators).
When will the passenger oxygen system automatically activate?
When the cabin pressurization system detects a cabin altitude at or above 14,500 +/- 500 feet.
How can the passenger oxygen system be manually deployed from the cockpit?
By pressing the PASS OXY switchlight located on the cockpit overhead panel.
