The Karakoram Range
is a major mountain range in Asia, primarily located in northern Pakistan, India, and China. Different from the Himalayas, lies above it.

Dispute over Aksai Chin
During British rule in India, two proposed borders with China emerged: Johnson’s Line (1865) places Aksai Chin in India’s territory, while McDonald Line (1893) assigns it to China. India views Johnson’s Line as the legitimate border, whereas China favors the McDonald Line. Currently, the Line of Actual Control (LAC) separates Indian-administered Ladakh from Aksai Chin, aligning with China’s claim line.

McMahon Line
McMahon Line is a borderline between China (Tibet) and India decided as part of Simla convention of 1914. Extends from Bhutan to the bend of Brahmaputra. Following this agreement, the Tawang Region and Southern Part of Tibet were considered to be a part of British India. India recognizes this, China refuses. Bishing last village, Memba tribe lives here.
India-China standoff areas in Ladakh
Indian and Chinese armies are engaged in the standoff in Pangong Tso, Galwan Valley, Demchok and Daulat Beg Oldie in eastern Ladakh.
Nubra valley
The valley is formed by Shyok River and the Nubra/Siachan River. The valley separates the Ladakh and Karakoram Ranges.

2. The Sasser Pass and the Karakoram Pass connect Nubra with Uyghur (Xinjiang) region of China.
