- Heard during ventricular filling and atrial contraction.
- Indicates:
- Myocardial Infarction
- Chronic Hypertension
- Coronary Heart Disease
- Aortic Stenosis

Stage 4 Pressure Ulcer
- Full-thickness skin loss:

- Raised scar that stays within boundaries of burn wound
- Red, Raised, Firm
Muscle Grading: Good +
- G+

- Good grades include lifting or holding against gravity with moderate to minimal resistance
Classification of Body Area Burned:
Moderate
- <10% 3rd degree
- 15%-30% 2nd degree
Obturator Sign
RLQ pain with internal rotation and flexion to 90 degrees of the right hip and 90 degrees of knee flexion
Keloid Scar
- Raised scar that extend beyond boundaries of burn
- Red, raised, firm
- More common in young women/those with darker skin
S3 Heart Sound
- Heard during ventricular filling
- Indicates CHF
Axillary (Circumflex) Nerve Involvement
- Inability to abduct arm with neutral rotation.
Maturation Phase of Healing
- Tissue remodeling lasts up to 2 years
- At 6-12 weeks scar is immature

- Tumor is localized =/< 2cm
- Has not spread to lymph nodes

- Inner layer composed primarily of collagen and elastin fibrous connective tissues
- Contains lymphatics, blood vessels, nerves, and nerve endings, hair follicles, sebaceous, and sweat glands
- Cells include: fibroblasts, macrophages, lymphocytes, and mast cells
McBurney’s Point
Site of the appendix located 1 1/2-2 inches above anterior superior iliac spine in the right lower quadrant
Cancer Grade IV
- Cancer cells are abnormal
- Undifferentiated
