Who must deal with Military Explosive Ordnance?
Only Military EOD personnel must evaluate, render safe and dispose of military ordnance.
What are the four categories of military ordnance?
- Dropped, Projected, Thrown, Placed
What are some of the most dangerous military ordnance?
Dropped submunitions because they are considered armed when outside the dispenser and are usually found in groups.
What are some of the more dangerous fillers found in projected military munitions?
Chemical and Picric Acid (found in some WWII Japanese munitions)
Who should you contact if you suspect an item is military ordnance?
The nearest EOD unit or the Pentagon hotline.
What information will the EOD unit request from the originating agency in regards to found military ordnance?
Length and diameter of the item, color markings, stamping so and other distinguishing marks.
What are the four military ordnance color codes?
- Yellow Band - HE
- Brown Band - Low Explosive
- Blue Band - Practice (but not inert)
- Light Green - White Phosphorous

False, colors can be changed.
Who must the request the assistance of a military EOD unit?
A civil safety or law enforcement official and must be on scene when EOD arrives.
