the identification of drugs & medicines by their scientifically & internationally recognize active ingredients
generic name or terminology
is the chemical component responsible for the claimed therapeutic effect of the pharmaceutical product.
active ingredient
is the description of the chemical structure of the drug or medicine and serves as the complete identification of a compound.
chemical name
is the finished product form that contains the active ingredients, generally but not necessarily in association with inactive ingredients.
drug product
is any organization or company involved in the manufacture, importation, repacking and/or distribution of drugs or medicines.
drug establishment
means drugstores, pharmacies, and any other business establishments which sell drugs or medicines.
drug outlets
is a list of drugs prepared and periodically updated by the Department of Health on the basis of health conditions obtaining in the Philippines as well as on internationally accepted criteria. It shall consist of a core list and a complementary list.
essentials drug list
a list of drugs that meets the health care needs of the majority of the population.
core list
is a list of alternative drugs used when there is no response to the core essential drug or when there is hypersensitivity reaction to the core essential drug or when for one reason or another, the core essential drug cannot be given.
complementary list
is the proprietary name given by the manufacturer to distinguish its product from those of competitors.
brand name
are drugs not covered by patent protection and which are labeled solely by their international non- proprietary or generic name

DOST
together with the DENR shall develop an action plan for the control and management of air pollution from motor vehicles with the Integrated Air Quality Management Framework.
DTI
shall establish the procedures for the inspection of motor vehicles and the testing of their emissions for the purpose of determining the concentration and/or rate of emission of pollutants discharged by the said sources.
DOTC, DTI, DENR
co-chaired with the DENR, in consultataion with the Bureau of Product Standards of DTI, DOST with the fuel and automotive industries, academe and the consumers – shall set specifications for all types of fuel and fuel- related products, to improve fuel composition for increased efficiency and reduced emissions.
DOE
shall regularly monitor
meteorological factors affecting environmental conditions including ozone depletion and greenhouse gases.
PAGASA
WIth the DENR shall regulate all projects which will involve the use of atomic and/or nuclear energy, and will entail relaease of radioactive substances into the environment, incident to the establishment or possession of nuclear energy facilities and radioactive materials, handling, transport , production , storage and use of radioactive materials.
PNRI
shall encourage participation of government agencies and the private sector including NGOs, POs, academe, environmental groups and other private entities in a multi- sectoral campaign.
