What is a body of knowledge (data) about the natural world, it deals with aspects of life that can be detected, observed, and measured.

What three things can science do, and two things it can’t do
It can: peer review, open to challenges, and its a self collecting enterprise
It can’t: say what is morally right/wrong and address the existence of God/supernatural things
What is the process of science and it taught as a sequence of steps because science always changes based on new evidence.

What is an informed logical and plausible explanation and it mist be formatted in an If….. then statement
Hypothesis
Difference between fact, observation, and hypothesis
Fact- direct and repeatable observation
Observation- description, measurement of any object/phenomenon
Hypothesis- informed logical explanation for observation
Difference between control group and controlled experiment
Controlled experiment is when two or more subjects are being tested and one get the IV but the others don’t
Control group- group not receiving IV
Difference between IV and DV
IV is the variable that is varied or manipulated by the researcher and DV is the effect, its the outcome
