MIDTERM PART 5 Flashcards
System that places weight (points) on each of the compensable factors in a job. Total points establishes a job’s relative worth. Jobs that fall within a specific range of points fall into a grade associated with a specific wage or salary.
Point method
complex quantitative method that combines elements of both the ranking and point methods. Factor comparison results indicate the degree to which different compensable factors vary by job.
Factor comparison method
a characteristic used to compare the worth of jobs and the EPA requires employers to consider (several) compensable factors for setting pay for similar work performed by both females and males.
§ Factors include skill, effort (mental and physical exertion), responsibility and working conditions
