Mechanism of Action
Postive allosteric modulator for GABAa receptors. Binds to benzo receptor sites on chloride channels and potentiales binding and effects of GABA (increases intracellular Cl concentration leading to hyperpolarization of the cell)

Pre-medication 2-5mg (0.5mg/kg) slow IV, IO, IM
Post-intubation 2-5mg q 5-10 min slow IV/IO
Seizure 2-6 mg IV; 10mg IM; 0.2mg/kg IN (max 10mg)

Precautions
May cause CNS and respiratory depression
caution with acute alcohol intoxication
