Microscopes (1) Flashcards
1
Q
Magnification
A
Magnification is how much bigger a sample appears to be under a microscope than it is in reality
2
Q
Resolution
A
Resolution is the ability to distinguish between 2 points of an image (amount of detail). E.g if 2 objects are sen less than 200nm apart, they are considered one object
3
Q
How to calculate magnification
A
Actual size = image size/magnification. Must be converted to same units.
1mm = 1000micrometers
1micrometer = 1000nm
4
Q
What is ruler in eyepiece lens called
A
Ruler in eyepiece lens is called an eyepiece graticule
5
Q
What is a null hypothesis
A
